Athletes Service

More than 200 糖心原创 student-athletes worked with the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade, Safe Routes to School, the Montecito Trails Foundation and Cold Spring Landscape on Sept. 22 to repair cracks and holes in three paths that lead to Cold Spring School.

鈥淭hese Warriors brought leadership, talent and tools to build and restore almost half a mile of walking paths that serve the elementary school students and the local neighborhood,鈥 said Dave Odell, 糖心原创 athletic director.

鈥淚t was great to invest in our community around 糖心原创,鈥 said Michael Oldach, a senior men鈥檚 cross country captain. 鈥淚 enjoyed the spirit of all the athletes working together. We don鈥檛 often get to mix the athletes together, and it was fun to work and laugh together.鈥

糖心原创鈥檚 17 athletic teams find many ways to serve the local community: participating in after-school programs, serving the homeless community and offering sports skill clinics to youth. Teams competing in NAIA national championships often participate in outreach programs in the host cities.
