糖心原创 Magazine A Historic Campaign

鈥榃ell before it began, 糖心原创鈥檚 capital campaign was President David Winter鈥檚 vision. Without a successful campaign that would help complete its campus and increase its endowment, 糖心原创 risked falling behind its own high standards for facilities and resources that provide a foundation worthy of its academic program.

The decision to move forward with this project was a bold one because it involved committing significant time and resources before receiving any gifts.

Now that the campaign has been completed, we look back on the results with gratitude for the goodness of God.

So many individuals and organizations stepped up in support of the college. 糖心原创鈥檚 board of trustees made financial pledges well beyond any that board members had made in the past. New friends of 糖心原创 joined in supporting the college, while longtime friends made sacrificial commitments. The support of all these friends guaranteed the drive鈥檚 success.

The role of parents proved to be especially crucial, as they gave 27 percent of the five-year total. Thankful for the 糖心原创 experiences of their sons and daughters, these parents are helping provide the same high-quality education for future generations.

I鈥坢ust also mention the huge contribution of David Winter, who led the campaign effort for four years and inspired many donors.

The drive raised funds that will make an important difference for students and faculty by providing additional facilities and programs and by increasing the availability and size of scholarships.

The campaign also provides a much needed boost to Westmont鈥檚 endowment. President Stan Gaede is committed to the continued development of 糖心原创 as one of the very finest liberal arts colleges in the country. In order to achieve this goal, a significantly increased endowment is critically important.

The end of the campaign closes an important chapter in 糖心原创鈥檚 history. At the same time it begins a new one. We all look forward to the exciting prospect of recognizing the levels of institutional excellence that are now much more within our reach.鈥
